A university-owned hotel in the heart of Edinburgh reopened on Tuesday 1 August following a £2.7m refurbishment, creating a contemporary hotel in the heart of the city’s old town.
The seven-month development of KM Central includes renovations to its 45 double en-suite rooms, as well as an upgrade of its stylish breakfast room.
The three-star property is part of a collection of year-round hotels owned by Edinburgh First - the commercial arm of the University of Edinburgh. It’s located close to the University campus as well as Waverley Rail Station, Princes Street, The Royal Mile, and other local attractions.
Each of KM Central’s 45 modern and compact double rooms have flat screen TVs, tea and coffee-making facilities, a desk, safe, hairdryer, complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries, USB sockets and free Wi-Fi access.
The breakfast room, Circa, will offer guests the choice of a full cooked Scottish, continental or vegetarian breakfast, in newly decorated surroundings.
Chris Barnes, assistant director, business development and occupancy at Edinburgh First said: “Edinburgh First is continuing to invest in its facilities after a £1.6m refurbishment of Masson House on the Pollock Halls estate last year.
“We hope guests at KM Central will be delighted with the bright and modern décor and little touches, such as modern prints of Edinburgh on the bedroom walls, as well as the freshly-cooked and locally-sourced food available at Circa.
“All in all, the hotel offers value-for-money for those who want a central, affordable base for exploring the UK’s most popular city break destination.”
