Buccleuch Place is a refurbishment of existing Georgian apartments and provides a mix of standard study bedrooms within flats, each with shared kitchen/living spaces and bathroom facilities.
Buccleuch Place Lane is a new purpose-built property with 136 single en-suite study bedrooms, all within flats each with their own shared kitchen/living spaces.
Both properties share a common room and external landscaped gardens for use by all residents, and are ideally close to the central University campus and the library.

All study bedrooms are equipped with the following furniture:
- Standard single bed, or 3/4 sized bed (large rooms) or two standard single beds (Twin rooms)
- Chest of drawers
- Desk and study chair
- Set of bookshelves
- Fixed light above bed and desk
- Internet provision
- Additional soft seat (bean bag)
Duvets, blankets, pillows, bed linen, mattress protectors and towels are not provided. You will, therefore, need to supply these items yourself.
Bedding packs, comprising of a sheet, duvet, duvet cover, pillow and pillowcase (does not include a mattress protector) can be purchased from the University (at an additional cost) using the order form link in your offer details. However, these packs are only available to students at beginning of lease.
Flats typically share two shower room and WC facilities with your flat mates.
There is a common room in the grounds of the site, which is equipped with a seating area, games equipment and TV.
This is self-catered accommodation and kitchens are equipped with the following items:
- Four-ring electric cooker with oven and grill
- Set of three saucepans, frying pan and chopping board
- Vacuum cleaner
- Dish drainer and pail
- Sweeping brush, mop and shovel
- Ironing board (no iron)
- Crockery and cutlery are not provided.
Students have access to coin-operated, onsite laundry facilities.
Cleaning and housekeeping
Staff will visit your flat weekly and assist you in keeping common areas clean (kitchens, bathrooms, halls and stairs).
We will visit en-suite shower rooms fortnightly to assist in cleaning these areas too.
Residents should clear excess rubbish and remove all recycling to the designated areas, they are also responsible for keeping their own bedrooms clean.
All utility bills included - there is an average allowance of electricity but overuse can result in additional charges.
High-speed wireless internet is available throughout the property and each bedroom has a data outlet for a wired connection.
