Pentland House

Furnishings 

All study bedrooms are equipped with the following furniture: 

  • Single or 3/4 size double bed
  • Desk with drawer and study chair
  • Wardrobe
  • Shelving/storage at desk
  • Full height mirror
  • Bin
  • Pinboard
  • Internet provision, hard wired and wireless provision

Bedding 

  • Bedding is NOT included in your rent.

Bathrooms 

  • All rooms are en-suite and have a private shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Kitchen/living areas 

This is self-catered accommodation and kitchens are equipped with the following items: 

  • Four-ring electric hob and oven
  • Microwave
  • Fridge/Freezer
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Breakfast bar and stools
  • Sofas and coffee table
  • 40" flat screen TV
  • Sweeping brush, mop and shovel
  • Kettle
  • Ironing board
  • Crockery and cutlery are NOT provided
  • Pots, pans and frying pans are not provided

Communal facilities and services 

  • Students have access to card/mobile app operated laundry facilities on-site. 
  • There are a range of communal facilities, accessible by all students: these include a gym, computer room, music rooms, and common rooms equipped with seating areas, games table and Smart TV. 
  • There are 3 secure bike stores with space for up to 300 bikes in total. 

Cleaning and housekeeping 

  • Residents are responsible for keeping their own bedroom and ensuite clean and tidy
  • Residents should clear rubbish and remove all recycling to the designated areas
  • It is the joint responsibility of all residents to keep the communal areas clean (kitchen & hallways)
  • Staff will visit your flat occasionally to assist you in keeping communal areas clean
  • It is the joint responsibility of all residents to keep the Common Room, Laundry and other communal areas of the building clean and tidy
  • Please note that all our accommodation is non-smoking, this includes e-cigarettes.

Utilities 

All utility bills included - there is an average allowance of electricity but overuse can result in additional charges.

Internet 

High speed wireless internet is available throughout the property and each bedroom has a data outlet for a wired connection.

Use of internet services is subject to the University of Edinburgh computing regulations and those of the service provider for the property:

Students at Pentland House can hire an eBike from the UniCycles, the University of Edinburgh’s affordable eBike hire scheme. This is the hassle-free and affordable way to start enjoying the convenience of cycling in Edinburgh.
