Furnishings 

All study bedrooms are equipped with the following furniture: 

  • Standard single bed
  • Desk and study chair
  • Additional soft chair
  • Bookshelves
  • Wardrobe with drawers below
  • Fixed light above bed and desk
  • Internet provision

Bedding 

  • Bedding is NOT included in your rent. But why not take the hassle out of buying and transporting your bedding and kitchen items by pre-ordering from our friends at UniKitOut? All you need to do is choose the items you want, select your residence, then confirm and pay for your goods.

    If you’re staying with us over the summer, or place your order later in the year, UniKitOut's trusted courier will deliver the goods to you directly.

    For January arrivals, UniKitOut will be in touch directly after any purchase to confirm how they will deliver your bedding pack to your accommodation. 

    You’ll be able to order these when you accept your contract; we’ll also let you know what size bed you’ll need to order for, as well as giving you a special discount code.

Bathrooms 

  • Each bedroom in the Residence Hall has its own en-suite (private) shower room. 

Kitchen/living areas 

This is self-catered accommodation with one large shared kitchen on the basement floor for all residents in the Residence Hall to use: 

  • Electric hobs, cooker, oven and grill 
  • Microwave 
  • Chopping board (see the end of this document for a full list of what we supply per kitchen bay) 
  • Kettle 
  • Shared lockable fridge & freezer 
  • Personal lockable cupboard (padlocked provided) 
  • Cleaning equipment is provided to the large kitchen 
  • Crockery and cutlery are NOT provided 
  • Pots, pans and frying pans are not provided

Pantry spaces

On each floor you will be assigned to a small shared pantry with has the following equipment: 

  • Kettle 
  • Shared fridge 
  • Microwave 
  • Lockable cupboards (padlock provided) 
  • Ironing board (no iron) 
  • Mop, bucket, and vacuum cleaner
  • Recycling bins
  • Sink and basin

Please note no additional cooking equipment should be used in pantries. Only inthe kitchen space.

Communal facilities and services 

  • There is a main common room on the basement floor, equipped with a seating area, pooltable, table tennis table and TV facilities. Plus, there are additional private commonrooms and study areas on each floor of the building.
  • Students have access to on-site cashless-operated laundry facilities.
  • Additionally, there are 4 private bookable music practice rooms containing a full drum kitand a baby grand piano, and a common study room with access to a shared printer.

Cleaning and housekeeping 

  • Staff will be cleaning communal areas (common rooms, study spaces, lifts, stairwells etc)twice per week
  • We will visit en-suite shower rooms weekly to assist in cleaning these areas too.
  • The large kitchen is cleaned twice per day (including weekends) in the morning andevening
  • Residents should clear excess rubbish and remove all recycling to the designated areas,they are also responsible for keeping their own bedrooms clean.
  • Please note that all our accommodation is non-smoking, this includes e-cigarettes.

Insurance

Basic contents insurance will be provided by:

Endsleigh Insurance

Internet 

High speed wireless internet is available throughout the property and each bedroom has a data outlet for a wired connection. 

Resnet internet 

Use of internet services is subject to the University of Edinburgh computing regulations and those of the service provider for the property:

If any electrical equipment is damaged or faulty please contact ENGIE on: 0333-666-1110 and they will assist on the matter. This helpline is available 24 hours a day.
