Holland House

Furnishings 

All study bedrooms are equipped with the following furniture: 

  • Standard single bed
  • Small chest of drawers (with one lockable drawer)
  • Desk and study chair
  • Fixed task lighting
  • Set of bookshelves
  • Wardrobe
  • Wall mounted pinboard
  • Internet and telephone provision

Bedding 

  • Bedding is NOT included in your rent.

Bathrooms 

Each bedroom at Holland House has an en-suite (private) bathroom comprising shower, wc and wash hand basin.

Communal facilities and services 

Common Rooms

There is a large common room at Holland House which is furnished with soft seating, tables and TV.

Pantries

The communal pantries have snack preparation areas and are equipped with the following items:

  • Iron and ironing board
  • Fridge
  • Microwave
  • Toaster
  • Kettle
  • The pantries are furnished with sofas.

Cleaning and housekeeping 

  • Residents are responsible for keeping their own bedroom clean & tidy.
  • It is the joint responsibility of all residents to keep the pantry, common room and any other communal areas clean and tidy.
  • Residents should clear rubbish and remove all recycling to the designated areas from bedrooms.
  • Staff will visit communal areas regularly to assist you in keeping these areas clean.
  • Staff will visit en suite rooms occasionally, to assist in cleaning the en suite area. Residents are responsible for cleaning en suites between staff visits.

Please note that all of our accommodation is non-smoking, this includes e-cigarettes.

Basic contents insurance will be provided by:

Endsleigh Insurance

Internet 

High speed wireless internet is available throughout the property and each bedroom has a data outlet for a wired connection. 

Resnet internet 

Use of internet services is subject to the University of Edinburgh computing regulations and those of the service provider for the property:

Students at Holland House can hire an eBike from the UniCycles, the University of Edinburgh’s affordable eBike hire scheme. This is the hassle-free and affordable way to start enjoying the convenience of cycling in Edinburgh.
