Success means different things to different people. To some, success is all about becoming famous; to others it is all about making a difference. If you aspire to an academic career, success will likely be measured by your peers’ recognition, the quality of the research you do, and the legacy you leave behind. But how do you get “there”? And what steps are you prepared to take to achieve whatever success means to you?

In this talk, I’ll share with you my journey to an academic career and offer a personal perspective of what it takes to succeed.
