Community Support
The Community Support team is here to ensure Accommodation, Catering and Events is a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Our team, located in the main Reception Centre at Pollock Halls, works 24/7 to provide a friendly and secure atmosphere across our entire estate. We have a dedicated management team supported by community support officers working various shifts to achieve this goal.
We offer a 24/7 security presence, access control, and confidential support.
For general enquiries you can contact them on 0131 651 2094.
Where you need the fire, police, or ambulance service, dial 999 and request the appropriate emergency service.
After calling the emergency services please call Community Support so we are aware of the incident and can provide assistance.
Community Support can assist in an emergency, give out-of-hours student support, and help prevent crime in your area.
You can call Community Support in the event of an emergency on 0131 651 2060. This is an emergency line, and only to be used as such. This service is not designed or intended in any way to replace the role of the emergency services or other relevant agencies such as GPs or other local NHS provision.
For general enquiries and support from the Community Support team, contact them on 0131 651 2094.
Reporting a crime or incident
Community Support is normally the first point of contact when it comes to reporting a crime or incident that takes place at any Accommodation, Catering and Events premises and involves any person using our facilities.
We recommend that any victim of a crime reports this to the local Police service by dialing 101. The Community Support team will support staff, students or visitors contacting the police and provide assistance in any investigation.
Support Staff
A team of Accommodation and Operations Managers look after our properties and will assist residents with all building related issues, maintenance, cleaning (where provided) and repairs.
Staff usually work Monday to Friday.
For any concerns with your accommodation cleanliness, maintenance, or repair issues you should complete the Accommodation Support Form.
Emergency Repairs
If you need something repaired in your accommodation, you should complete a repair form online using the "Repairs" button on MyEd.
The Community Support team will offer out of hours support for emergency matters including failures or defects causing (or likely to cause) widespread disruption, injury to persons, serious damage to the building fabric, services, equipment or property.
