In addition to University accommodation, there is also a very large amount of privately-rented accommodation available in Edinburgh. Given time, you should be able to find something suitable for you and your family.
As the temporary accommodation, you will need while looking for a place to stay can be quite expensive, we strongly recommend that students with families come to Edinburgh alone in the first instance, and send for their partner and children only when suitable housing has been obtained.
The Advice Place website (run by the Edinburgh University Student's Association or ‘EUSA’) has a range of useful information, including advice on different neighbourhoods in Edinburgh, tenancy issues, landlord issues and tips on flat-hunting.
